Your presenters:
Clams Casino, called a “Burlesque Queen” by the New York Times, is one of New York’s favorite stars of the bump ‘n’ grind, and has performed on stages around the country. This summer Clams was the winner of two coveted trophies, for Most Innovative and Most Comedic at the world’s only international burlesque competition, the 2008 Miss Exotic World Pageant, sponsored by the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas. She is also the co-producer of Killer Queen Burlesque, Bump & Grindhouse, Smells Like Tease Spirit and a number of other pop-culture obsessed burlesque shows in New York City and along the Eastern Seaboard.
Darlinda Just Darlinda has been working as a Burlesque Performer in New York since 2003. The Village Voice calls Darlinda a “Mastermind of Bizarre Extravaganza,” for good reason! She coined the term “Polyester Performance”, an inspiring mixture of Burlesque, Modern Dance, Performance Art, Psychedelic Happening, Comedy Sketch, and Drag Queen Ballet. Darlinda has performed both nationally and internationally, most receintly at the Neo-Feminist Burlesque Symposium at The University of London. She has continued to produce and perform in shows in New York City, most recently “The Year in Rainbow Finale” in August of 2008 at the Zipper Factory.
